Company Background
Our company is comprised of individuals with experience in entertainment, data management, and social networking. There is a clear idea of what the final product will resemble, but we are open to a vast array of technologies that could make it a reality. The ideal candidate for this job will have experience in working with start-ups and possess an ability to work in a self-directed environment.
Project Mission
A start-up team seeks a forward-thinking coder/programmer to act as a partner in the creation of a unique Web 2.0 application. The final product will be a synchronized website and mobile application. Coder should have expertise in information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaborative sites.
Principal Purpose
The principal purpose of this site is the efficient aggregation and distribution of information in never-before-seen ways. Visualization of previously unseen phenomena and the ability to make them a reality is central to our reason for being and why we think our final product will be well-received. That's a long way of saying - we have a really, really great idea, and we can't wait to tell you.
Targeted Audience
The audience for our product is today's Web 2.0 user. A coder who understands the psychology of Web 2.0 is very important. We don't aim to imitate, but to innovate. We're open to trying new techniques that will provide our audience with a unique destination on the web and a must-have mobile app. The coder should be unafraid of breaking rules or ignoring popular conventions.
Project Timeline
The code we need cannot be written in a weekend. The gathering of background information, a growing understanding of the audience at the individual level and the process of coding itself is a creative process that we understand takes time. That said, we hope to have a coder in place in the next 60 days, with the goal being the completion of a beta-version by the end of calendar year 2010.
On a personal note, this is a really important project to the company founders. They have invested a lot of time in this project because they feel it provides a needed service, not because it will be a financial windfall. While we do aspire to run a profitable venture, coders who are only motivated by financial gain need not apply. A desire to push the envelope is paramount.
