We need someone to create 11 dynamic links between Wordpress blog entries and an html home page. The home page currently has an area where eight Wordpress profile articles are featured (we are using WP as a CMS). Each article has an article name, such as “John Doe,” which we would like linked to the Wordpress entry, so that the article name displayed on our html home page changes dynamically according to the blog article name that is keyed to that entry. PHP is active via .htaccess. So, if we change the first article title in Wordpress to “Bob Dole,” it automatically reflects that on the home page. To make it work, we would like to use a special database field in each wordpress article and use that as the control, unless there is a better method. So, each article would have a special field that identifies it, such as “featured_01” through “featured 08.” Featured 01 would appear at the first position on the home page, followed by the other seven. There are also three articles that have to be linked in this same way, the only additional factor being that for these articles, we would like a certain amount of text (X amount of characters) pulled from each article to appear under the dynamic link on the home page as a preview.
