General/Background:
I am seeking a developer to create a simple UI component of a larger project I am working on. I am offering this simple project as way for me to try outsourcing portions (or much) of this larger project currently under development. This particular portion has a clear starting point and ending point so I am comfortable outsourcing it as a test however I will indeed be using the completed portion within my project.

Client Side Web Development, JavaScript Based DHTML, Ext JS Framework (Ext), HTML, PHP, MySQL
Project Description:
I need a single web page created that will open a modal, movable and resizable window (dialog) which will initially open to a size of 700x450 pixels. The window/dialog must have the following features/properties:
- Able to be moved/dragged around the web page.
- Able to be resized to any dimension larger than 700x450 pixels.
- Able to be minimized to bottom of web page.
- Able to be maximized to the full size of web page.
- Must be browser compatible with Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1.5+, Opera 8+, Safari 3+/Chrome 2+ and Lynx 2+
- Prohibit interaction with the web page while the window/dialog is open.
- Contain Ok and Cancel buttons at bottom right of window.
- Contain/Host an Ext List/Listview control locked to window dimensions and resized with window.
- Ext List/Listview control to be built, displayed and populated from an Ext JSON (or XML, not yet decided) result of an Ext Ajax call to an existing PHP page (URI provided by me). This includes columns, column headers and column properties as well as row data.
- Web page & window must be created in a manner which would permit dynamically altering above properties, features & data via PHP user defined variables (not internal/server) defined at the head of the web page file.
Timeframe:
I need this project completed no later than 2009-08-26.
Compensation/Payment Method:
I welcome bids on this project. I will not be selecting a developer to do this project based SOLELY on the lowest cost. I need this project done correctly and to my specifications. Further, as a developer myself I acknowledge that communication of project details is critical to providing an accurate quote for such a project. Because of this I acknowledge that additional compensation may be necessary if details or specifications change during or after development of this project. I can make payment via Cashiers Check/Money Order, Bank Wire Transfer, Credit/Debit Card, Cash (if local), Western Union and at a very last resort PayPal.
Completion/Deliverable:
This project will be considered completed when the developer provides a URI to me where I can browse to view the web page described above, view it with the above listed browsers and verify it meets above features/specifications. This project will be considered delivered when I have received via email the archived/zipped source code of the web page created, the source code of any external files referenced within the web page or referenced files and any image binaries referenced within the web page or referenced files.

If you have carefully read all of the above information regarding this project and have reached this Tech Tip and still feel you can successfully complete this project as described above including all features, specifications and compatibilities, I would ask that you move on to a different project. If however you feel that you can successfully complete this project as described above including all features, specifications and compatibilities with one exception then I am interested in working with you and if more than one exception...I am all ears. 
Note:
I have never used an online freelance service or project bid/posting service so if I am doing something wrong, lacking information or I need to improve anything regarding this project posting, I welcome any suggestions.

After reviewing forum posts I realized I may have misunderstood the "Time to complete" field. Within my project description I intentionally and correctly state "I need this project completed no later than 2009-08-26" which is when I need this project completed.
I actually would like to choose someone for this project within the next few days. I don't see a way to alter the project expire date so I will leave it as is.
I just want to be clear that I need this project/task completed (developed, delivered, paid) by 2009-08-26 Wednesday and I will choose a developer to begin this project (if bids received) on or before 2009-08-23. |
