This project is to build a website that swim coaches can use to create and manage workouts.
There are two portions One is free to use (after creating user account) and runs with ads on the pages the other is a paid service. The free section of site will allow coaches to create "sets" that are categorized by effort level (calculated off of average time entered by coach) and then combine those sets into "workouts" The coach can save 30 sets and 15 workouts (numbers subject to change).
The paid site adds to this by creating groups of athletes and each of their best times for a variety of events. Sets are available for any group, but workouts (assemblies of sets) are for a specific group.
There are no limits to sets or workouts in paid mode. The system uses athlete information to calculate % of effort for each "Set" allowing a coach to print workouts for individuals or groups of individuals customized to the athletes best times. The paid site has a planning feature that lets coaches assign workout type, notes, and yardage to dates. That information will be displayed on the workout assembly page described below.
The workout assembly page allows coaches to assemble "sets" into workouts via drag and drop. Each set will be represented as a box of a set width a and height equal to the time it takes to complete. Sets are sorted into 5-7 (should not be limited) categories as determined by the coach for easy selection.
So, creating a workout is as easy as dragging sets to the workout area. Looking at the workout area the coach should be able to see the time needed for the workout like looking at a vertical timeline.
Coaches should default to shared sets mode, where other coaches can browse sets and rate them 1-5 stars. (Browse by author, date, rating, age group, etc.)
Finally celebrity coaches can post workouts that are available to others for a small fee.
