We are looking for someone to work with us on an upcoming website. The site will not be graphic intensive, so we are not looking for any sort of special layout skills. We are more looking for back end talent to handle this database driven site.
While we prefer VB ASP due to our years of experience with that language, we are not against using PHP or anything else considered to be more efficient. The same holds true to MySQL. We prefer it, but are not against something more efficient.
The details cannot be disclosed without a signed NDA. But we can say that the site will be a very simple layout (think Google style) with the typical registration system, login/logout, etc. It will allow users to submit data, select categories (or suggest new ones that must be approved), provide a information, description, ratings, comments, etc. (think e-bay, and no this is not an auction site). The site will also need administrative control panels for us to manage the site and it's content securely.
There will also be more details provided after an NDA about some of the anti-spam type features we would like.
The good news is, there is absolutely no e-commerce or anything that "touchy" in the site. It will purely be data management.
We really prefer something up to speed with all the new Web 2.0, AJAX, and other nifty things modern day websites contain. Hence the reason we are not able to just do this site ourselves (the last time we worked on a site, Notepad was still a valuable tool).
Money is tight, as this is a completely personally funded project. We have high ambitions for this site, and the future potential revenue. This is a site that has not been done before. We are also open to discussion about forming a more solid business relationship. More than just a "code this and get your check" relationship.
We are looking for someone as local as possible. The closer you are to the Eastern time zone USA, the better. And if you are local to the 30549 zip code, then we are VERY interested in you.
