We currently enter daily price data from two physical locations into an excel spreadsheet to create charts for a publication and website. This data is used to create two charts for publication using various formulas in five different charts that generates figures and statistics to form the crux of the article.
Data reports can be created by using various figures from different time periods, but it is very time consuming.
The new database should include the ability to pull data from Excel spreadsheets, including our spreadsheet, as well as those coming from other providers in the future.
We need the ability to utilize the different formulas without the need to constantly move data from one line to the next and from one tabbed section to another
The database should be hosted online so that it is easily accessible and provides the possibility of a subscription-based site in the future should we decide to do that.
We should have the ability to utilize the different formulas on any strands of data, ie, compare different dates and quarters, months, years, etc to one another in both the box score and frac spread.
There should be an ability to edit the back end so that we can add different fields or edit the formulas, etc.
The database needs to be accessible in XP, Vista and Macintosh to make it as accessible as possible.
