Hello,
We have need to automate certain features in a subscription website we belong to:
1) the site is Windows/IIS hosted and was programmed on the DotNet Framework
2) It uses cookies, viewstate, and encoded querystrings
We are seeking a developer familiar with WinHTTP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1 (in Legacy ASP) or the HttpWebRequest/HttpWebResponse classes in DotNet. The goal of this project is to:
1) Successfully log in to the remote server using our valid credentials
2) Successfully navigate to 3-4 form pages on the site
3) Determine proper form data necessary to perform a valid POST for 3-4 forms
4) Provide the means to alter various form items prior to POST
5) POST the data in a proper format to get results
6) Return the results of the POST as a text stream if text
7) Save the results of the POST to disk if binary
 Successfully log out of the remote server
We stress that this is NOT A HACK REQUEST. We are valid subscribers to the site. The purpose of the project is not to circumvent any security on the site, but to "decode" the inner workings of the site in order to automate form submission and both text and binary response.
The results of the project must include raw code and be developed using the Windows/IIS platform, either in legacy ASP (in case you have something sitting around from the old days) or DotNet. Please price the project to include your installation and successful demonstration on our server (using RTS/RTC). It can be a web service, a class, or anything else you see fit. However, all exposed methods should be thoroghly explained in writing or verbally in the demonstration.
The successful candidate will be provided with our credentials and all information. The project will consist of two phases: Phase one will be the development and demonstration on the developer's server, and phase II will be the successful transfer and implementation on our server. If desired, we can provide access to our server for development.
Please submit a base cost estimation and hourly overage rate. Also, we require a description of your past experience with scraping, as we want to keep testing to a minimum and not overload the remote server, and are considering knowledge of the scraping process highly in our final decision.
