Greatfoodplaces will be aimed at the b2c market and will predominantly be a pay to advertise based site where in the first phase restaurateurs will have the facility to advertise to a global marketplace their establishments, style of cuisine, ambiance, facilities and pricing as well as being able to have quality photos and if requested independent reviews posted to their pages within greatfoodplaces.com
I want the site to have a minimalistic approach and not look too cluttered.
The site is currently live and is written in PHP however I am willing to look at PHP or .net for the redevelopment.
The site will need to be easy to maintain and update and will require a cms system that allows me to do the following
* Add / remove pages
* Add pictures preferably of variable size
* Add remove featured premises
* Edit text on all pages
The redesign will be a full makeover of the site excluding the top banner page which I suggest is kept (however I am always open to suggestions for this to be changed) however the join now – its free needs to be changed to log in / Join now
The site needs to have a full search facility added with filters for type of food, location (town city and country)
When a user logs in I want their location “remembered” either by a cookie or some other method this facility should sit just under the main top bar and should appear on all pages the search should have food type, city and location as well as a button to change location.
The side bar needs a constant look at feel with well appointed good looking buttons (the CMS should allow me to change these buttons as appropriate. Also above the buttons I want featured premises to be listed the amount of featured places with between 1 and 5 depending on location.
I am happy with the colour scheme of the site and would like the site to maintain the basic look however the side navigation bar needs to be changed and updated as this is shockingly bad.
I will also be adding in a search facilty for hotels, flights, cars and holidays this will be done as part of a travel affiliate scheme. This will appear on the main on the main page or maybe as a sidebar

will essentially be a mirror of the greatfoodplaces site however additional listings that need to be listed by date and automatically delete after the date/time has passed for gigs, cinema, special events and possibly some additional listings I would like to be able to add these categories and additional buttons on the sidebar in the CMS I would also like the ability to highlight buttons for extra “standoutability” I also want these 2 sites linked IE if you click on the top menu bar of greatfoodplaces “search bars and clubs” you will be diverted onto the pubmonster site and vice versa
