Hello,
I need an Excel macro that will "alphabetise" words in a non-English language. The order of the letters in this language is:
a, ā, i, ī, u, ū, ṛ, ṝ, ḷ, e, ai, o, au, ṃ, k, kh, g, gh, ṅ, c, ch, j, jh, ń, ṭ, ṭh, ḍ, ḍh, ṇ, t, th, d, dh, n, p, ph, b, bh, m, y, r, l, v, ś, ṣ, s, h
The words would be vertically arranged, one to each cell. For example:
sas
has
hai
ji
je
would be "alphabetised" as:
ji
je
sas
has
hai
Note that the script would need to recognise "ai" as a single letter rather than "a + i".
The script needs to be able to handle (and ignore) characters that are not part of the alphabet e. g. the character "q" etc., numbers, commas etc. etc.
It would need to be able to handle thousands of words.
Thanks,
Simon
